அருள்மிகு கிருஷ்ணசுவாமி திருக்கோயில், அம்பாசமுத்திரம் திருநெல்வேலி மாவட்டத்தில் உள்ளது. தாமிரபரணி நதியின் வடகரையில் அமைந்த கோயில் இது.

சேர மன்னன் ஒருவன் இப்பகுதியை ஆண்டு வந்தான். பெருமாள் பக்தனான் அம்மன்னனுக்கு, சுவாமிக்கு தனிக்கோயில் கட்ட வேண்டுமென்ற ஆசை இருந்தது. ஒருசமயம் பெருமாள் அவனது கனவில் தோன்றி, தாமிரபரணி நதிக்கரையில், புன்னை வனத்தைச் சுட்டிக்காட்டி அவ்விடத்தில் தனக்கு கோயில் எழுப்பும்படி கூறினார். தான் கனவில் கண்டபடியே ருக்மிணி, சத்யபாமாவுடன் வேணுகோபாலருக்கு சிலை வடித்து, இங்கு கோயில் எழுப்பினான். இத்தல பெருமாள், தனது பத்தினியரை பிரியாத மூர்த்தியாக இருப்பதால் இவருக்கு, நித்ய கல்யாண பெருமாள் என்று பெயர். சுவாமிக்கு கிருஷ்ணசுவாமி என்ற பெயரும் உண்டு. இக்கோயில், "கிருஷ்ணன் கோயில்' என்றால்தான் தெரியும்.

வேணுகோபாலர் சிலை, சாளக்ராமத்தால் (நேபாளத்திலுள்ள கண்டகி நதியில் கிடைக்கும் கருப்பு நிற கல்) செய்யப்பட்டதாகும். மூலஸ்தானத்தில் கையில் புல்லாங்குழல் வைத்து வாசித்தபடி, வலது காலை சற்றே பின்புறமாக மடக்கி மோகன கோலத்துடன் காட்சியளிக்கிறார் சுவாமி . தலைக்கு மேலே, 9 தலைகளுடன் ஆதிசேஷன் குடையாக இருக்கிறார். அருகில் ருக்மணி, சத்யபாமா இருக்கின்றனர். இவருக்கு எண்ணெய்க்காப்பும், பால் திருமஞ்சனமும் செய்கிறார்கள். உற்சவமூர்த்தியும் இதே அமைப்பில் இருக்கிறார். இவர் ஒருபோதும் தாயார்களைப் பிரிவதில்லை. கருடசேவையின் போதும், தாயார்களுடனேயே எழுந்தருளுகிறார். தீர்த்தவாரி திருவிழாவின்போது, சுவாமியின் பிரதிநிதியாக சக்கரத்தாழ்வார்தான் தீர்த்தக்கரைக்கு எழுந்தருளுவார். ஆனால் இங்கு சுவாமியே, தாயார்களுடன் தாமிரபரணிக்குச் சென்று தீர்த்தவாரி காண்கிறார். வைகுண்ட ஏகாதசியன்றும் தாயார்களுடன்தான் சொர்க்கவாசல் கடக்கிறார். முன் மண்டபத்தில் வடக்கு நோக்கி "பக்த ஆஞ்சநேயர்' இருக்கிறார்.

Sri Krishnaswami Temple:


Sri Krishnaswami Temple is situated on the northern bank of Tambiraparani in Ambasamudram, Tirunelveli district.

A Chera King, a staunch Vishnu devotee had the desire of building a temple for Perumal. Lord appearing in his dream suggested the place in Punnaivanam – forest of Punnai trees – on the banks of River Tambiraparani. He made an idol as he saw in his dream, with His consorts Rukmini and Satyabama, installed and built the temple. Though the presiding deity is named Krishnaswami, people know the temple as Krishnan kovil only.

The idol of Lord Venugopala is made of Salagrama stone. Lord Venugopala, in his alluring beauty, appears playing the flute keeping his right leg slightly back. Divine snake Adisesha is above his head as an umbrella. Consorts Rukmini and Satyabama are by His side. He never parts with them and appears even during the Garudaseva mothers are with Him, He is never away from them, He is praised as Nitya Kalayana Perumal – Perumal ever in a wedding style. Tirumanjanas are performed with oil and milk each day in this temple. The vimana, tower above the sanctum is of Padma Vimana design. Sri Anjaneya is in the front mandap facing north.
